THE MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison, Martha Bartlett, was on her bicycle this week to launch a provincial campaign for Transport Month.
Officials climbed out of their cars and onto yellow bicycles to complete a cycling race to promote non-motorised transport.
The event was held on Monday (05/10) at the Kimberley library.
In her speech, Bartlett said that several programmes have been launched. These include law enforcement campaigns, enhancing non-motorised transport by distributing animal-drawn carts and bicycles, ensuring the safe transportation of learners, supporting women empowerment initiatives in the transport industry and exposing learners to careers in the transport industry and road safety campaigns
