A 16-year-old was arrested for the murder of a boy of the same age.
This came about after the suspect and the deceased started arguing in Dietman Street, Wellington, on Thursday evening, 9 March.
The suspect allegedly stabbed Marius Swarts (16) in the back with a knife. He managed to get to his home, but died shortly upon his arrival.
According to Wellington police spokesperson, Capt Basil Seekoei, a post mortem will be held to establish the cause of death.
“The motive for the killing is not known and is under investigation. We do not want to speculate at this early stage,” said Seekoei.
The suspect appeared on charge of murder in the Wellington Magistrate’s Court on 13 March.
The case was suspended until Wednesday 15 March to get hold of an evaluation statement.
Both teens were not registered at a school.
