Paarl Toastmasters are inviting anyone wishing to develop their communication and leadership skills to join their monthly meeting on Thursday 28 May. Guests are welcome to attend the meeting free of charge.
According to Nicholas Siderators, vice-president of Education, the Paarl club offers a supportive environment where one can learn to become a better speaker – in your language of choice, as it is a bilingual club.
“Toastmasters is a non-profit educational organisation that has helped people of all backgrounds become more confident in front of an audience. Our club’s mission is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth. We meet on a regular basis to practice various skills useful in public speaking, including giving speeches, listening, and providing each other with feedback and evaluation.”
Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of every month from 18:45 until 21:00 in the Conference Room at the Afrikaanse Taal Monument, Gabbema Doordrift Street, Southern Paarl. Meetings are scheduled for 25 June, 23 July, 27 August, 1 October, 29 October, and 26 November
