  • 2 red apples, cores removed
  • 60 ml butter
  • 60 ml sugar
  • 5 ml fine cinnamon

Preheat oven to 180 °C. Cut lightly through skin of the apples, all the way around, about 2 cm from the top. This stops them from bursting open. Put apples in an oven-proof dish. Put half the butter into centres of apples. Sprinkle sugar over and dot rest of the butter around the apples. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake for 30 – 40 minutes. Glaze apples now and then with the syrup that forms. Serve warm with homemade custard.
