  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 6 frozen hake fillets, defrosted
  • 250 g dry bread crumbs
  • about 50 ml sunflower oil
  • 6 pita breads
  • fresh rocket

Tartare sauce

  • 250 ml mayonnaise
  • 2 gherkins, cut into small cubes
  • about 8 capers, finely chopped
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Preheat your oven to 180 °C. Season the beaten eggs with salt and black pepper. Dip the fish in the egg and then roll in the bread crumbs. Pour the oil onto a baking tray and put the fish in it. Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Meanwhile, heat the pita breads on a griddle pan or in the oven. Combine all the ingredients for the tartare sauce. Remove the fish from the oven. Carefully cut open the pita breads and put fresh rocket inside. Put a fillet of fish inside and serve with onion rings and tartare sauce.
