Guavas baked in port
Baked guavas are just as lovely as stewed or bottled guavas
- 8 fresh guavas, peeled and halved
- 1 vanilla pod, cut open and seeds removed, or 2 ml vanilla essence
- 125 ml maple syrup
- 125 ml port
Preheat oven to 200 ºC. Put all the ingredients in an oven dish and make sure the guavas are well covered. Cover with tinfoil and put in the oven for 30 minutes. Remove tinfoil and bake for a further 15 minutes.
