HEALTHIER BLONDIES ? ? I’m super excited to share this delicious recipe with you ???? Honestly one of the yummiest things I’ve made in a while! They’re super easy to make and HIGHLY ADDICTIVE! I’ve kept it gluten and refined sugar free and I used ingredients you can find in any @woolworths_sa and easy on the pocket! ? ? ? Ingredients:? 1. Can of chickpeas drained and rinsed (I also removed the shells) 2. 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter ?? ? 3. 1/3 cup of maple syrup or honey ?? ? 4. 1 teaspoon vanilla essence/extract ? 5. 3 tablespoons coconut oil ??? 6. 3 tablespoons oat flour (just blend normal oats) ? ? Topping:? 1. 1 slab Dark chocolate ?? ? 2. 1/3 cup peanut butter ?? ? ? 1. Blend the chickpeas, maple syrup and vanilla essence together. ? 2. Melt the peanut butter and coconut oil together (pop it in the microwave for 30sec) and then add to chickpea mixture and blend again. ? 3. Stir in oat flour.? 4. Scrape into an oiled dish (I used from coconut oil) and bake in the oven at 200C for 20min or until golden brown. ? 5. Remove and let it cool complete. ? 6. Melt together to chocolate and PB and bring down to room temperature.? 7. Once the Blondies are cool, top with chocolate and stick in the fridge for 2hours ? 8. Cut and ENJOY! ? ? #baking #treats #culinarymedicine #blondies #peanutbutter #healthy #doctor ?#chocolate #chickpeas #sweettooth #weekendtreats #southafrice #lifestylemedicine

BREAKFAST BASICS ??? ? Nutrition is supposed to be simple and you shouldn’t have to feel overwhelmed when it comes to making the right food choices. We’ve been subjected to diet culture and the do’s and don’t when it comes to diet all our lives. ? ? So team, I’ll be committed to try and rather teach you why we should make certain choices instead of telling you what choice to make. I want to equip you with the knowledge you need to be free from a diet culture. So here are my best breakfast tips:? ? 1. Eat what you love. It’s meal number one for the day and there is no point in forcing yourself to eat something that doesn’t satisfy you. Food is not only fuel, but an emotional act. Sit down and enjoy that meal!? 2. Pack in protein. Some awesome studies have proven that by eating at least 20g of protein during breakfast, increases you basal metabolic rate, keeps your blood sugar stable and in turn decreases unnecessary craving during the day.? One egg contains 7g of protein, so you can do the math. Another good option is a protein powder, usually containing around 22g of protein 3. Balance it out! Try to make your breakfast a combination of protein, fats and complex crabs (yes, we need carbohydrates to be our best selves). ? 4. Nail it!!!! It’s so important to start your day right, it sets the tone. Nailing that first food choice will motivate you to be mindful of your choices the rest of the day.? 5. ?Hydrate first. Open your eyes and drink a glass of water before reaching for that cup of coffee. ? ? Eggs, avo and rye-bread is a real go to for me. Something I love and find super satisfying. It’s well balanced and really makes me happy and ready for my day ahead. ? ? ?What do you love eating? #food #medicine #culinarymedicine #lifestylemedicine #foodchoices #knowledge #dietculture #theAteam #breakfast #eggs #avo #empower #doctor #basic #southafrica #challenge #community #coffee #culture #carbs
