(Serves 4)

  • 20 ml olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 250 g ham, diced
  • 250 g portabellini mushrooms, sliced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 500 ml cream
  • 500 g penne pasta

Heat olive oil in a pan. Sauté onion and garlic together until soft and translucent. Add ham and mushrooms and cook for about 5 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper. Add cream and let simmer uncovered for 10 - 15 minutes until cream is reduced a little and sauce has thickened. Cook pasta according to instructions on pack and drain. Mix sauce with pasta and serve with grated pecorino or parmesan cheese.
