Concert to uplift community

There will be lots of entertainment during Boabab’s Reconciliation Day celebration at the Clive Solomon Stadium on Saturday, 14 December.

This will be the fifth year that Boabab Entertainment NPC will bring the community of Heidedal together to celebrate Reconciliation Day.

The purpose of this project is to send out a message of hope to the youth by the youth.

Substance abuse has spiralled out of control to such high levels that serious community intervention is necessary.

The organisers said this is destroying the youth and it has a devastating effect on family and friends.

Boabab Entertainment is a non-government organisation registered for youth development, especially the young artists of Heidedal and surrounding areas.

Its strategy is to use artists as a vehicle to bring the youth, families and friends together.

Artists will entertain the crowd from 12:00 until 01:00. Well-known artists will join local artists on stage.

This year The Rockets celebrate 50 years in the entertainment industry.

The celebration started in Cape Town in the West Arena and they will now be present in Heidedal to celebrate.

Other excellent entertainers include PDA, Simple Stories, Lenthea Jantjies, Danielle Louw, DJ Pop, DJ Zeelow, Khutala and Prince Kaybee.

Take note that Price Kaybee will perform from 18:00 to 19:00.

The Rockets will perform from 19:30 until 23:00.

The Reconciliation Day celebration is funded by the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (DSACR) and the National Arts Council (NAC).

The directors of Boabab Entertainment NPC wish to thank all the sponsors for supporting the project.

The final programme will be announced.

Entry costs R100 for adults, R50 for learners and entry for children under six years of age is free.

  • Special offer for Black Friday: Buy tickets at half price on Friday (29/11) and Saturday (30/11). Tickets are available at Daisy’s Coffee Shop at the Lee Marco Centre in Heidedal.

Security staff will be on duty from Friday, 13 December, and parking will be safe and secure.

No glass bottles or glasses will be allowed in the stadium. No firearms and unauthorised objects that can cause bodily harm will be allowed.

Security staff will search all vehicles and bags to ensure that all concert goers are safe. The police will have a joint operation centre on site.
