Wedding fair and expo postponed

Robertson Tourism has decided to honour President Cyril Ramaphosa’s request to collaborate in minimising the spreading of the coronavirus by limiting contact among groups of people.

“Although the date for the Robertson Wedding Fair falls outside the prescribed restriction period, we would like to be certain that events of this nature will be allowed before we continue the planning, Renate le Roux of Robertson Tourism told the Gazette.

Therefore the tourism office chooses to respond positively to the call to common action by supporting the social distancing measures the cabinet implemented on 15 March.

“Herewith we inform all exhibiters, media and potential attendees of the Robertson Wedding Fair and Bridal Expo that the Fair will be postponed until winter,” Le Roux said.

“The date will be confirmed once we are certain we can host a bridal fair that can offer the best platform to each person wanting to partake in the fair.”

The tourism office, along with the broader wedding industry acknowledge that there are major implications to each person offering a service to the industry, and will take hands and play its part to mitigate these implications.

Numerous resources have been made available to the public regarding Covid-19. Western Cape trade, tourism and investment body Wesgro has established a dedicated communication centre for dealing with Covid-19-related content and concerns for all the sectors of the Western Cape Economy.

“Team members from Wesgro, the Western Cape Government as well as our partners have been seconded to work on this with immediate effect,” Le Roux said. “Should people have any questions, inputs and concerns, they should kindly refer all their enquiries to the following email address: supportbusiness@wesgro.co.za
