Young Cole is already a bright spark

Five-year-old Cole Williams of Kuils River is one of 10 SPARK Schools bursary winners.

This year he started Grade R at SPARK Lynedoch outside Stellenbosch.

Says his proud mother Marianne: “Cole is enjoying it so much that he wanted to go to school over the weekend. He has already made friends and loves his teachers. Sparks Fly – the school’s lively daily morning assembly – was certainly the highlight of his first day!”

She continues: “The SPARK Lynedoch teachers are amazing! It’s only been a few days and we can already see Cole is so eager to learn. What stands out the most is that they are very focused on the core values, which is great to see, because this will certainly help him build healthy relationships and feel connected to his peers, which in turn fosters independence and generosity towards others, not only at school but at home as well.”

SPARK Schools believes in providing high-calibre education with impressive results at an affordable cost to working parents. They do this through their use of a blended learning model that combines direct instruction with technology.

SPARK is an acronym for the school’s core values, Service, Persistence, Achievement, Responsibility and Kindness. Each of SPARK’s 21 schools chooses its own sixth core value. SPARK Lynedoch’s is Sustainability: “I practice sustainability to take care of our planet for the future.”
