Traders competition

The South African Informal Traders Association (Saita) will again host its annual Business Person of the Year competition.

The registered NPC promotes the development and advancement of the South African informal sector, ensuring its members are recognised as valuable contributors to the economy.

The competition is a seven-month campaign leading up to the finale in September. There will be various rounds, with entrants moving to the next round upon completion of the deliverables as per criteria stipulated during each phase. A total of R20 000 000 has already been secured from the private sector to ensure that 10 000 micro- and informal businesses are trained through this programme, with further opportunities for partners to come on board.

The competition was officially launched on Monday 15 March. Every informal and micro-enterprise has an opportunity and are encouraged to enter. The personal growth for every entrant and expansion for their business is life-changing. With R100 000 worth of prizes to be won and a cash prize of R50 000 it’s an opportunity not to be missed.

Entries can be submitted via www.saita.org.za or on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SAInformalTraders. An application form will also be available in the new Saita magazine, Informal Trader SA.

Direct all further enquiries to the Saita project team on project@saita.org.za or 087 094 8501.
