Origin of Trails training run

Trail running enthusiasts can look forward to exploring Blaauwklippen Wine Estate’s pristine trails at the exciting Savanna Origin of Trails second Training Run on Saturday 12 June 2021.

“The Savanna Origin of Trails second Training Run is the perfect way for trail runners to familiarise themselves with the routes that will form part of the third annual Savanna Origin of Trails Trail Run Experience that will take place on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 June 2021,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the events.

“Taking place at the beautiful Blaauwklippen Wine Estate, the second Training Run is free of charge and open to the first 100 runners to sign up. The run will consist of a 14 – 16 km marked route and runners will be split into groups with dedicated group leaders.

“Starting at Blaauwklippen Wine Estate runners will head towards Eden, G Spot and Coetzenburg,” continues Meyer. “There will be a good mix of climbing, descents, technical trails and smooth single track. This training run will give runners a good idea of what to expect on race weekend. The Blaauwklippen market will be in full swing for runners to enjoy afterwards. We look forward to welcoming trail runners to Blaauwklippen this coming Saturday for a Savanna Origin of Trails Trail Run experience like no other.”

Launched in 2018, the Savanna Origin of Trails Trail Run Experience will treat runners to the best trails on offer in Stellenbosch. Entrants can look forward to challenging, yet fun and rewarding routes with spectacular views. All trail runners will receive an official event technical T-shirt as well as a finisher’s T-shirt.

The Savanna Origin of Trails proudly supports the Stellenbosch Trail Fund (STF). Trail runners and mountain bikers can show their support by making a donation during the Savanna Origin of Trails online entry process.
