Children are like trees, they need to be nurtured to grow

The mere thought of children going to school without a meal to eat or the proper uniform was not acceptable for Olwethu Bhula.

Bhula started the “Take a child to school campaign” to assist learners at Zwelihle Primary, Mount Pleasant Primary and Lukhanyo Primary school who are struggling. According to Bhula, most children come from less fortunate backgrounds and the campaign focusses on collecting school uniforms and necessities. “The children are the future, they are like trees and need to be nurtured,” says Bhula.

He explains that during the riots last year, many parents lost their jobs and did not receive their full income.

Coming from a difficult background himself he says he did not start the campaign to gain popularity, but to better the lives of the young children.

Bhula urges people to donate items such as stationery, black school shoes and any other items which will be of help to the learners.

To make donations contact Olwethu Bhula on 083 651 302 or Andiswe Dalasile on 073 351 8836.
