Growing and developing FynArts

Since its inception in 2013, FynArts has grown exponentially as can be seen by increased ticket sales and the number of programme events.

New events for 2019 include the Chill Guru Sightseeing Bus which will do a daily tour that includes a special art and culture visit to the RDP Village in Zwelihle.

FynArts patrons can also look forward to Blik en Stok rhythm-workshops presented by Riaan van Rensburg at a number of schools as well as a number of workshops could inspire people to develop or expand home-industries.

The permanent FynArts Gallery was opened in May 2018 to a warm and generous reception. The gallery doubles as the FynArts office. At the time of going to print, seven exhibitions have been presented.

“We are grateful for the support received from artists, curators and visitors alike,” says Mary Faure, Festival Director.

Friends of FynArts was launched in January 2018. Arts festivals and organisations worldwide rely on donations, grants and sponsorships for their sustainability and growth. FynArts is no exception. FynArts would like to say thank you to their first group of Friends who signed up for 2018. “We are deeply grateful for your support of FynArts, financially as well as for your advice and encouragement.”

The FynArts Development Fund (178-125 NPO) was established in 2016 with the aim of supporting the promotion of the arts through opening up new opportunities, shared dialogue and contributing to the stimulation of a flourishing arts and culture sector.
