#LoveInAbundance chat reveals the heart of the Overberg

The month of love was celebrated in a unique way last week when the local Twitterati filled the Twittersphere with the good work being done by organisations and volunteers in the Overberg.

The Grootbos Foundation hosted the Twitter Chat themed #LoveInAbundance in conjunction with GreenPop, South African Tourism and Dawn Jorgenson, a conscientious travel blogger. The conversation was based on several questions, including:

Q1 What people/projects have opened your hearts lately and why?

Q2 Share a photo of the project you’d love to give/have given to.

Q3 South Africans are known for their warmth. How can we show #LoveInAbundance in our communities?

Q4 Tell us why you love being a big-hearted South African?

Twitter responded en masse with stories and images of projects bettering communities in the Overberg, showcasing the work of Grootbos Foundation, GreenPop, Deyer Island, Rainbow Trust, Panthera Overberg Wheelchair Foundation and many many more.

By the end of the conversation, the hashtag #LoveInAbundance was trending in South Africa.

Jorgenson concluded the conversation with this Tweet: “We all have the ability to touch another’s life, make a difference, plant a tree, pick up litter, smile at a stranger. #LoveInAbundance”
