Take part in community policing

The Hermanus Community Policing Forum (CPF) invites all local community organisations, institutions and associations to register with the forum and to participate in its upcoming Annual General Meeting and elections.

The CPF is a statutory body elected every five years to be the link between the police and the community. The committee meets once a month.

Organisations are invited and encourage to join the forum and nominate representatives to serve on its committee.

The Hermanus CPF AGM will take place on 8 October 2019 at 18:00 at the Municipal Auditorium.

This membership drive is an effort to make the local forum more representative of the wider community.

This year, 2019, is election year for all CPFs in the Western Cape. The current exco will stand down and a new one will be elected, although present members may be nominated for another term.

The election for the new committee will take place at the AGM, and its members will serve for the next five years.

Organisations that have renewed their membership or submitted new membership forms may nominate a representative to serve on the exco and vote in the election.

Nominations by CPF member organisations, including a short CV of the nominee, must be submitted in writing to the current chairperson by 1 October.

Positions to be filled include chairperson, deputy chair, treasurer, secretary, deputy secretary, public relations officer and projects manager.

A representative of all registered members of the CPF may attend the forum’s monthly meeting. For more information, please contact Mervyn Milner on 082 558 8593, or email wcl@lantic.net.
