Youth soccer fest at Hawston

Soccer clubs are invited to enter their teams for a soccer festival that will take place in Hawston on Saturday 8 June.

A maximum of eight teams will compete in the u-10, u-12, u-15 and u-19 age categories.

The event is organised by the Hawston Development Forum in collaboration with Football Foundation, Generation School Hermanus and Vivo Soccer Academy.

One of the highlights of the programme will be an exhibition match by a well-known Cape Town soccer club. Festival goers can also look forward to a freestyle footballer who will show off some of his skills with the ball, lots of stalls selling popcorn, candyfloss, cake and coffee, boerewors rolls and curry and rice. There will also be a stall where little ones can have their faces painted.

Dribbling and penalty shoot-out competitions will also give festival goers the chance to participate in the action and stand a chance to win some cool prizes. A raffle with some nice prizes is up for grabs.

Stall holders can start setting up at 07:00 but the gates will only open to the public at 09:00. Entry costs R10.

Anyone interested in running a stall at the event can contact Earl Maree on 081 480 9312 or Edwin Brooks on 060 315 3138.
