Campaign held to stop violence

The 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign began on Monday (25/11).

Every year the campaign starts on 25 November and ends on 10 December.

The official opening of the South African campaign took place at the Lephalale Local Municipality, Limpopo on Monday (25/11) under the theme, “Enough is Enough – 356 days to stop gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF)”.

The 16 Days campaign forms the centre point of government’s comprehensive 365 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children.

At the end of the 16 Days campaign on 10 December, the government will officially launch the 365 Days Behavioural Change campaign. During the 16 days period, men will be encouraged and mobilised to sign a pledge against gender-based violence as a form of commitment to stop and end GBVF.
