Car spinners take to Komani streets for good cause

WHERE there is smoke, there is crazy car spinning – all for a good cause.

Adrenaline-junkies and car-enthusiasts can look forward to plumes of smoke, people leaning out of vehicles and screeching tyres when #TeamQueenstown, a group of Komani-car spinners, takes to the street on Saturday, November 30 in aid of the Louis Rex Primary School.

Car spinners from East London, King William’s Town, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth will attend the event set to take place at the school in New Rest.

Apart from car spinning there will be a competition where residents can showcase their modified cars, stalls, music and food, as well as face painting and jumping castles for the children.

Sheldon Bailey of #TeamQueenstown says, “It is our aim to do good in the community we live in, as well as to change the negative mindset around car spinning.”

Funds raised will be used to fix the dilapidated classrooms at the school.

According to school principal Bevan Christoffels, the school’s floors and classroom ceilings need to be repaired, as well as the toilets.

Tickets cost R40 for adults and R10 for children.

For more information, contact Sheldon Bailey at 078 670 3976.

  • In celebration of the school’s 80th birthday this year, various fundraising events will be hosted – including a gala dinner and a thanksgiving celebration.

Funds raised at these events will be used to upgrade the school building and to construct a school hall.
