Sassa office reopens after decontamination

The office of the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) in Kroonstad will reopen today (21/07) after being closed due to a staff member testing positive for Covid-19.

The office in Kroonstad, which falls under the Fezile Dabi district, was closed with immediate effect on Thursday (16/07).

“Precautionary measures are being observed, and the affected employee and the officials who were in close contact have been advised to get tested, self-isolate and monitor their symptoms,” confirms Motshewa Maleka, spokesperson for Sassa in the Free State.

The office was closed for decontamination.

Sassa in the Free State has stated that it remains committed to ensuring the safety of all its employees.

It urges members of the community to always wear a mask, practice social distancing, wash their hands with soap and water and sanitise hands regularly, as well as to avoid unnecessary exposure.

“It is important for all of us to work together and to keep ourselves and the rest of society safe. This is now priority,” says Maleka.
