Officers clamp down on drugs in Kuruman

Police confiscated drugs worth thousands of rands from several homes in Kuruman and surrounding areas last week.

In a joint operation, the Kimberley K9 Unit and JTG Crime Intelligence Unit executed search warrants on the premises of people who have been known for dealing in drugs.

  • On Thursday (17/09) the team arrested two foreign men, aged 23 and 33, after dagga with an estimated street value of R98 930 and R350 in cash had been found in their house situated in Bankhara Bodulong.
  • A 38-year-old woman was arrested in Seodin after the police found dagga valued at R17 160, Mandrax tablets with a street value of R3 580 and Mandrax powder in her house.
  • On Wednesday, 16 September, the police raided a house in New Stands in Mothibistad. Dagga with an estimated street value of R694 883 and cash amounting to R293 were found.
  • In a raid on 15 September, a 35-year-old man was arrested when the police discovered dagga with an estimated street value of R118 690 on his premises in Kagung near Kuruman.
  • Dagga worth R25 480 and R3 200 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of dagga sales, were confiscated from a 43-year-old man in Groot Damsros, Mothibistad. He was arrested.
  • Following up on information regarding stolen property in Magwage Village, police found a laptop, a gun cleaning kit and a telescope valued at R8 000. A 25-year-old man was arrested on the premises for the possession of suspected stolen goods and dealing in dagga.
