IT’S a sure sign that Christmas is just around the corner when it’s time for Arthur’s Christmas Wonderland.
After 19 years, the event has become a highlight on every Christmas enthusiast’s calendar. With 12 trees of various designs – most of them homemade – complimented by hundreds of lights, wreaths, knick-knacks, doodads and all thing Christmas on display, it’s truly deserving of being called a wonderland.
And the grand opening on Saturday, November 30, has a few extra surprises in store as well. They will be hosting a Christmas mince pie competition.
Local celebrities in attendance will include Mr PE uberMANn, Chad Durrheim, Roland Gaspar and Queenie Grootboom, to name a few.
Arthur’s Christmas Wonderland is held in aid of charity each year, and this year’s chosen beneficiary is the Eastern Province Child and Youth Care Centre.
This year’s Arthur’s Christmas Wonderland will take place at 4 Framesby Villas in Heilbron Street on November 30, December 7 and December 14 from 14:00 to 18:00.
Entry is R20 and attendees are also urged to donate toiletries, stationery, lunch boxes and school shoes for boys and girls between the ages of three and 18.
