Cash Convertors not involved

An article in Paarl Post about jeweller Euan du Plessis, arrested for fraud, incorrectly stated he had sold jewellery to Cash Convertors.

Several complainants allege that they handed jewellery to Du Plessis for repair and adjustments, and either never received the jewellery or received fake jewellery in return.

In a statement, Cash Convertors said the jewellery transaction list at Cash Converters, Paarl, has no record of any jewellery received from the individual mentioned in the newspaper article.

The last interaction with the individual was in January 2017 and did not include any of the alleged items mentioned in the report. The jewellery stock list, inspected by Paarl SAPS, confirms this. Du Plessis, however, allegedly sold jewellery to other second-hand stores.
