Join meeting of Community Policing Forum

The Paarl East Community Policing Forum (CPF) will hold a special meeting on Monday 16 July.

The meeting, which starts at 19:00 at the Paarl East SAPS station, welcomes all members.

At the meeting a deputy chairperson for the CPF will be elected as well as a secretary.

For further information, contact the acting secretary, Shireen Anther, on 084 076 4910. Or, call current chairperson James Pedro on 073 375 0402.

. A community policing forum consists of organisations and institutions such as schools, ratepayers’ associations, civic organisations, businesses and religious institutions working in partnership with the local police. The purpose of a CPF is to create and maintain a safe and secure environment for citizens living in the CPF’s area of operation. The forum develops yearly community safety plans, which identify priorities and needs for the area. These are set by the community and also form part of the local police station’s operational plan.

A CPF may also plan and implement its own safety projects, and can apply to the provincial government for funding for these.
