A 19-year-old man was arrested for dealing in drugs on Friday 10 May in Klipbok Street in Scottsdene.

Kraaifontein police officers attached to the provincial intervention task team for drug dealing, were busy with crime prevention duties when they saw a man running into a residential property when he saw the police vehicle.

According to Kraaifontein police spokesperson Captain Hein Hendricks, the officers chased and cornered him at the residential property where he dropped a plastic bread bag.

“The bag contained several drugs, including tik, mandrax tablets, hash and dagga with a street value of more than R2 000. Police also found almost R300 in cash,” said Hendricks.

The 19-year-old was detained at Kraaifontein Police Station and will appear in the Kuils River Magistrate’s Court once charged. Brigadier Gerda van Niekerk, commissioner of Kraaifontein Police Station, congratulated the officers for their hard work and dedication.

“Kraaifontein police will continue with their crime-fighting operations to stop criminals from profiting from selling drugs to the Kraaifontein community,” she added.
