Police find car linked to robbery
arrest

Police have found the car linked to an armed robbery which took place in Tyger Valley Mall yesterday, Wednesday 7 August.

According to Bellville police spokesperson, Captain Jonathan Blanckenberg, six men robbed the Van Deijl Jewelers store in the mall at 18:45 while the owner was busy closing the shop.

The six men approached the shop, with three of them forcing their way into the shop while the other three waited outside.

“One had a six-pound hammer and went into the shop and smashed display cabinets and took seven Rolex watches. One of the men was armed.

“The owner and the suspects got into an argument and one of the witnesses in the shop drew a firearm and the suspects fled the shop,” said Blanckenberg.

He also said that one of the suspects turned around and fired into the shop.
