Police looking for liquor store suspects
scene

Brackenfell police are still looking for suspects linked to an armed robbery at a liquor store in H.O de Villiers Street after they fled in a white Nissan NP200 with no canopy yesterday (Thursday 15 August).

This is the second time in 10 weeks that the store, situated adjacent to Millennium Mall in Frans Conradie Drive, has fallen victim to the same crime.

According to the available information, a man entered the liquor store at 11:00 pretending to be a customer, asking about liquor prices.

“At some point he told the cashier to sit down on the stool behind the counter as the store is being robbed. He then produced a firearm and demanded all the cash in the cash register.

“A client walked in and the robber allowed the cashier to assist him, but a second robber, also with a firearm then walked in and led the customer away from the counter,” said Brackenfell police spokesperson Captain Erica Crous.

The previous robbery took place on Sunday 26 May, also by two men who used the same modus operandi.
