THE Nelson Mandela Bay Science & Technology Centre will be having its last holiday programme for the year under the theme “Cyberheroes”.
The fourth industrial revolution comes with unlimited opportunities for the future, but it also poses threats as well.
This holiday programme will look into the cyberspace and the opportunities and the dangers which exist. Learners will be educated about cybersecurity and how to navigate the internet safely.
According to Singathwa Kuli, Research, Innovation & Sustainability manager at the Mandela Bay Development Agency, they will also be introduced to basics of coding through a programming language called Scratch and a mobile app known as Tanks. Team building games will be held to promote interaction throughout the week.
By the end of this week the attendees will be able to identify the common types of cyber attacks and be able to defend themselves against the attacks.
