I want to celebrate our diversity

By taking part in the competition, the 23-year old Stacy Gossayn from Viljoenskroon hopes to inspire women to make their voices heard.

“I want to celebrate our diversity.”

Stacy completed her BSc degree in Human Movement Sciences and Physiology at the North-West University of Potchefstroom.

It is her dream to see that every young person in South Africa has access to a good and quality education.

She admires Rolene Strauss, former Miss South Africa en Miss World, for setting the perfect example of what a lady should be.

“Rolene also made me realise that small-town girls can have world-class dreams.”

Her role model is Lisa Nichols, a motivational speaker.

“Lisa inspires me because she overcame her fear and clawed her way out of poverty by stepping into her purpose.

“She found success by serving others.”

Stacy is grateful to her family for investing in her.

“By raising me with strong core values, they equipped me to become a confident woman.”

She spent the national lockdown with her family on their farm in the Viljoenskroon district.

Although 2020 brought unexpected challenges, Stacy believes the lockdown gave people the opportunity to spend more time with their loved ones and reconnect with people.

As farmers, her parents continued working throughout the lockdown.

They also donated food parcels to the church for distribution.

part of the essential services who worked during lockdown supplying food to the markets and donating food parcels through the church.

In this time, Stacy reflected on her mental, spiritual and physical health.

She also learned not to take small things in life for granted, such as a friendly hug or an early morning jog.

“Life as we knew it came to a halt, and we all had to find novel ways of doing regular things. This has helped us to feel connected to one another.”

Stacy hopes her journey on Miss South Africa will give her a platform to encourage young women.

“Cherish yourself. You are a highly favoured gift from God and there is only one of you,” she says.

“Once women realise that their strength lies in their uniqueness, they will develop unshakable confidence.”

She hopes to one day meet Past. Michael Todd, the lead pastor of the Transformation Church.

“He has made an immense impact on my spiritual life,” she says. who has contributed immensely to her spiritual life and journey.

If she can give advice to her younger self, it would be not to listen to the opinions of others.

“You are you. You are beautiful, you are worth it, you are unique and you can achieve anything you set your mind to.”

Stacy uses her YouTube channel, All Things Female, to inspire, motivate and share her knowledge on subjects she is passionate about.

She describes herself as a tenacious, selfless, energetic woman who loves reading research articles and features about health and wellness.

She is also a foodie and loves the diversity of South African cuisine. Eating sour worms is her guilty pleasure.

She was crowned as Miss Pre-Teen South Africa in 2008.
