A Lesotho national allegedly murdered a man in cold blood and abducted his wife, then raped her repeatedly over a period of four days.
On Tuesday, 17 December 2019, the police in Thabong responded to a complaint of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm.
They found the victim, Thabiso Lebatla, shot and stabbed. He was declared dead at the scene.
“It is alleged that the deceased had been out walking with his wife when they were approached by the suspect, who was known to them,” says Capt. Malebo Khosana, police spokesperson for the Thabong Cluster.
“The suspect allegedly shot and stabbed Lebatla. He then abducted the victim’s wife and held her hostage for four days. It is alleged that he raped her repeatedly in this time.”
The woman managed to escape on Friday, 20 December.
The suspect is a Lesotho citizen, aged 25 to 30. He is dark in complexion with an estimated height of 1,5 m. He has an average body weight and has short, dark hair.
A case of murder, rape and kidnapping is being investigated.
