Vibrant young team at studio has big plans

Young and hungry to succeed, a music crew from Welkom are putting their all into their production studio, Ultra Lord Production.

“We are the best locally, and as we speak 90% of all recording artists in this region go through this studio. Our name and brand is growing. It is hard work, and we have seen tough times, but as a label we are making it,” says Bongo Mayixle, music director and owner of Ultra Lord Production.

Although diverse in the skills they have to offer the music world, their vision and mission to make it big are unified.

Bongo and his team comprising Emmanuel Awo Yemi (artist), Dean Mansill (financial director), Thato Fumane Radebe (artist), Monde Mqumbisa (promotions) and Puleng Mofumane (art director), are the names behind Ultra Lord Music Production.

Ultra Lord Music Production was started by Bongo five years ago.

“I was always a music kid. Even at school my world was music,” says Bongo.

Bongo and Dean have been friends since their days at St. Andrew’s School in Welkom.

This power team has a hunger to succeed.

“We only produce quality music videos and recordings. Now we may be small, but we are dynamite,” says Dean. The studio plans to expand to the Cape in December, but in the meanwhile it is all go from their powerhouse in Dagbreek, Welkom.

“We want to cement and build our name here, and then the world is our oyster,” says Dean.

The team is hard at work organising gigs, recording albums, making music videos and raising funds for their big move to Melkbosstrand in the Cape.

From making the most scrumptious pastries filled with custard and topped with icing, which they sell personally with a big smile (and even a song), to the real hard work behind the closed doors of their studio, they are determined to be successful.

Although there are only two full-time artists currently on the books, Ultra Lord Production does work for all other artists and groups who approach them.

“We see Ultra Lord Production as a unique opportunity to change lives in the music world. Our artists come first. This dream has been five years in the making, and we will succeed,” says Bongo.

The team is planning a big gig in Welkom on 23 November.

“A massive farewell blast with an audience of 5 000 is in the pipe-line,” says Dean. “A gig of this size takes major planning, but nothing is too big for Ultra Lord Production.”

“But between now and November big things are happening. Just watch this space, we are very excited,” says Bongo with a twinkle in his eye.
