Campaign to uplift youth

A youth worker from Matwabeng, Thabo Sikosana, started the campaign Re Mmoho in Senekal last year to combat crime in the area.

According to Sikosana last year a lot of bad things have been happening in Matwabeng.

According to Sikosana, youngsters are getting more involved in drug abuse and gangsterism, while the abuse of women and children is at an all-time high.

“With this project I aim to bring this to an end,” says Sikosana.

At the end of last year, he hosted the competition Matwabeng’s Got Talent. where a

great part of the youth participated in.

With this initiative, Sikosana wants to show the youth that focusing on the wrong things won’t take them anywhere, while honing their talents can make them succeed.

The next talent show will take place at the Tumisang Hall on Saturday, 1 February.

It will last from 12:00 to 17:30.

Sikosana also works with the police to put an end to drug abuse and gangsterism.
