Thrift shop offers wide variety

For the past few years, volunteers of the Cluny Animal Trust have been running a thrift shop to raise funds to aid Dr Katherine Barker and her team in doing much-needed work in the Eastern Free State.

The Cluny Thrift Shop is situated opposite the Clarens Combined Primary School at 388 Larola Street in Clarens.

Twice a month, a group of local volunteers open the shop for business.

According to Imogen Tarita of the trust, the shop is successful due to a constant stream of donations.

Although the shop is not open every day, the donation door is always open.

Any clean and “gently used” items of clothing, shoes (preferably flat ones and takkies), underwear, socks, (particularly for children) and kitchen items (especially cutlery, crockery, glasses, pots and pans) are highly sought after, as well as linen, duvets, blankets, pillows and towels.

Donations in and around Clarens, Fouriesburg and Bethlehem can be collected if need be, but ideally it can be brought to the shop.

Dial 079-830-1438 or send an email to chantel@clunyanimaltrust.co.za.

The shop will be open on 12 February, 4 March, 11 March and 31 March.
