“We can stop crime by not buying stolen goods!” says Captain Tania Helfrich, local police spokesperson. Reject and report stolen goods for a safer community.
Property crime such as theft, housebreaking, shoplifting, handbag or cellphone snatching and theft from motor vehicles lead to unnecessary suffering and poverty.
“Let us all close the market for stolen goods, it is a crime and is punishable by law – so too is receiving stolen goods,” Helfrich warns. Purchasing stolen goods motivates criminals to repeat their actions and to be in possession of stolen goods are also punishable by law.
