Cycle the most beautiful MTB challenge

All proceeds from the Langebaan Country Estate (LCE) Cycle Challenge and Mountain Bike Fun Ride will be donated to the West Coast National Park.

The LCE Cycle Challenge and Mountain Bike Fun Ride is held in conjunction with SANParks Honorary Rangers and the Pedal Power Association (PPA), and will take place on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 November.

This double event has been rated as the highest scoring PPA Fun Ride for the past eight consecutive years, and Best New Event for the 2014/-’15 Fun Ride Season.

The Cycle Challenge, which takes place on Saturday 10 November, comprises of two routes: 80 km and 30 km and kicks off at the driving range at LCE, starting at 07:00 and 07:45 respectively.

Both rides take place mostly inside the West Coast National Park, winding through some of the most beautiful scenery on the West Coast. The finish line is at the top of Stumpnose Rock, affectionately known as Mamba Hill.

The Mountain Bike Fun Ride, which starts on Sunday 11 November, also comprises two routes: 18 km and 42 km and starts at 07:30 and 08:00 at the LCE driving range.

The shorter route takes place wholly within LCE, with a few relatively tough climbs which, when completed, rewards riders with beautiful panoramic views of the area, especially the lagoon.

Spectators and supporters are most welcome to join in the fun and enjoy the music, various food stalls and beer tent at the LCE driving range while waiting for the participants to cross the finish line.

The closing date for pre-entries for both events is Thursday 8 November and registration can be done online at www.lcecyclechallenge.co.za or www.racetec.co.za. Late entries can be done on the day at the marquee tent.
