Langebaan Football Club congratulates the team that was declared the winner of the West Coast SAB league, Diaz Leeds!
The Diazville-based club, which represented the West Coast well at the playoffs, is also celebrating its 35th birthday this year.
“Well done, and clearly there are still many years of competitive football in this club,” said the Langebaan team in a statement.
“Furthermore, Villagers FC turned 50 years old this year, the oldest club in this region. Congratulations, longevity speaks to commitment and the willingness to serve your community.
“We are the new kids on the block and hope to reach the milestones of 35 and 50 years.
“We would also like to announce that we are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to play in the ABC Motsepe League 2020-’21 season.
“This would be the first, not only for Langebaan FC, but for the entire West Coast, never before has the West Coast represented in this provincial league.”
The ABC Motsepe League will be an opportunity for players to professionalism.
According to the Langebaan team, they hope local clubs will make it to the national level “because the West Coast does have talent to show”.
