St Helena Bay wins by 188 runs

St Helena Bay Cricket Club (SHBCC) were victorious during their clash with Darling Cricket Club (DCC) which was held on Saturday 19 October.

According to Jean Erasmus, member of SHBCC, their team posted a decent total of 241 runs in their 50 overs.

“The batsmen who contributed were Owen Buziek (40, 5x4), myself (36, 1x6, 3x4) who started of with a 75 run opening stand,” explained Erasmus.

“The captain, Ryan Kivido, chipped in with a valuable (38, 5x4) and the game had some great action when Andre “Mielie” Muller finished it off with explosive fire power, hitting 41 runs not out (4x6, 2x4).

He adds that after keeping DCC in the field for the full 50 overs, Darling struggled to recover.

“They were soon 15 with 4 wickets down. The bowlers who stood out were: Christian Williams taking his best figures 5/14 in six overs, after a great opening spell from Gurshwin Prins 3/18 who had great assistance from opening partner, Jacques Saal, who didn’t have any luck to take wickets, but bowled very economically with figures of 0/10 in eight overs.”

SHBCC won by 188 runs.
