Local women are tackling each other on the rugby field and inviting teams to play.
A group of young women from the Langebaan recently decided to put a girls 7-side rugby team together,
The team played their first match on Sunday 8 November and took on a strong team from Hopefield.
The 30-minute match ending with a score of 35-30 in favour of Hopefield.
The Langebaan team’s tries were scored by Chanice March (2), Nevo Ocks (1), Anika Valentyn (2) and Querida Pieters (1).
Coach Antholey Blooms says that their motivation for playing is “we do it for ourselves.”
