Four armed robbers get away with bag of cash

The Rawsonville police are seeking four suspects in connection with a business robbery last week.

On Wednesday 26 May four suspects entered a shop in Van Riebeeck Street at 07:45.

“One suspect entered the shop first, looking for cellotape. He went back out and back in and walked to the fridge in the shop this time. The others followed. The went up to the office and one showed he had a gun. One of them then asked the owner of the shop where the other people were who worked in the shop. According to witnesses two of the suspects’ weapons were visible, it is unclear if the others were armed as well,” explains Rawsonville police spokesperson, Sgt Vivian Hurling-Jordaan.

The suspects took a red shopping basket and filled it with about R20 000 in cash, she adds. The suspects fled the scene in a VW Golf.

“No arrests have been made as yet. Should anyone have any information on the whereabouts of the suspects, they can contact the police station.”

Anyone with information can contact the investigating officer, detective WO Prins on 079 894 1718 or Capt Carstens on 082 469 5630.
