The brainchild of Teboho Masike (38), the Linomtha Private School, will be seeing the light in January 2020.
“Establishing a school has been my dream from the first time I got introduced to private schools back in 1991 when I attended the Shekinah School in Kimberley.”
“I was in a public school and the method of teaching at Shekinah was very different because of the minimum number of pupils in a classroom.
“One could experience the individual attention you got from your class teacher and it developed me quite well as learner,” says Masike.
A year later he came back to Kroonstad to continue at a public school and he was a much better learner and excelled in his studies thanks to the impact the private school had on him.
It is his dream to share this change, that had a huge impact on his life, with others.
Masike says he always had a curiosity about learning new things and a drive to teach and help others. It is his desire to encourage and promote people’s intellectual and moral development.
The Linomtha Group was established in 2006 by Masike as a construction company and later expanded into event management, farming, and now education.
With the growth of the Linomtha Group, he came across local individuals who had the same dream and the idea of opening a school as part of an expansion of the business was born.
The vision for the Linomtha Private School is to be a leading premium education group, educating students across a network of schools in the province within the next ten years, and later to make inroads in other provinces.
The school will accommodate 225 learners when it opens its doors in January 2020.
On top of the national curriculum, they offer Montessori and Steam (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) education.
Masike has a National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
