I would like to inform you of this 10-year-old public-health hazard.
This drain in Bay View Street in St Helena Bay has been discharging raw sewage for the last 10 years. Maybe the municipality should inform the public and ratepayers of their intentions towards a permanent and acceptable solution?
St Helena Bay resident,
The sewer drain in Bay View Street forms part of the “Kompanjeskloof” Erf 22/23 development. The development was never fully completed and not all the services were installed by the developers. This is the reason sewage spills at the manhole in Bay View Street; the infrastructure needs to be completed. The teams in St Helena Bay have always emptied the sewer at that point as some of the houses have been connected to the “incomplete” sewer system. Funding has been placed on the 2022-’23 Capital Budget for the installation of these services. – Saldanha Bay Municipality
