Hello and welcome to live coverage of Tottenham vs Man City in the English Premier League. Kickoff in the English Premier League is at 6.30pm SAST.
1'
KICKOFF! We are underway in North London!
2'
Son goes on a driving run through the middle for Spurs before Grealish comes back to challenge him well.
3'
A brilliant battle now down the Spurs right. Emerson Royal takes on Lewis and works a yard but Rico Lewis does well to block the cross. The latter is playing a hybrid left back/central midfielder role, inverting in possession.
5'
Block! Spurs give it away cheaply to Rodri. He finds Mahrez, who uses Bernardo Silva as a decoy and fires off a shot which Dier blocks well.
6'
Tottenham are having a tough couple of minutes. Ake is free from a corner and heads across goal before Walker's header is clasped by Lloris. Then Alvarez volleys into a crowd and his effort is blocked.
8'
The offside flag goes up against Kane. Tottenham had worked the ball well from the back thanks to Bentancur's movement.
10'
A reminder that Antonio Conte is recovering from surgery at home and is not on the bench for Spurs today.
13'
CLOSE! Some great City play with Grealish very involved. It's worked for Walker to cross from the right half-space but Emerson Royal defends well and take a knock from Grealish, earning a freekick.
15'
GOAL, SPURS, KANE, 1-0! 267 goals for Harry Kane and 200 in the Premier League! Rodri plays a hospital pass for Lewis and Hjobjerg intercepts. It falls for Kane and he finishes across Ederson. He is now Spurs' record goalscorer. Tottenham 1-0 Man City.
19'
SHOT! Man City have a long period of patient possession without any real penetration. Suddenly Rodri pings one into Bernardo between the lines and he drives a low shot... it's comfortable for Lloris to save though.
22'
Conte will be very content with his side's outing so far. They've limited City, scored a goa from high pressing and have the middle of the pitch nicely clogged up.
23'
YELLOW, Spurs: Bentancur clatters into Lewis and is shown a caution.
24'
Mahrez wasted a City freekick and it allows a Spurs counter attack. Kulusevski is carrying into space but Grealish defends the situation brilliantly and wins his tackle. His Man City shape is forcing the 100m pound man to be an auxiliary fullback at times.
26'
YELLOW, Spurs: Romero comes flying into a sliding tackle on Haaland from a mile away. A 100% yellow, not the smartest challenge from the typically rash Romero.
28'
Tottenham are really enjoying the space being afforded to them on transitions. Kulusevski and Son try to work a shooting angle but can't. It goes out to Royal but Grealish again defends well to concede a corner. When the ball comes in, it's Grealish heading it clear. His defending has been immense so far.
30'
It's a really good period in the match now for Tottenham. They're getting so much enjoy down the flanks and a second goal can't be far away.
31'
Rodri is having a totally off game. He keeps giving it away without clear options ahead of him. Walker has to make a last ditch tackle on Kulusevski and then a Perisic cross loops up into the arms of Ederson.
33'
Hojbjerg is down and needs treatment. The Spurs man shows the referee the studs mark on his knee.
35'
Grealish is also down now for Man City and it seems to be a knee problem. It's not that surprising with all the tackles he has made this evening.
36'
It's just 15 touches and nine passes for Erling Haaland so far. Not that he will be bothered, he is probably about to score!
38'
Man City have had 67% of the ball and lead 4-2 on shots but they've been outplayed really. Pep Guardiola is fuming in the technical area.
41'
SAVE! End to end stuff. Rodri drives towards the Spurs box but Romero's tackle is as clean as a whistle. Spurs' counter attack is cut short by Akanji's challenge on Kane. It eventually leads to Rodri's shot from 25 yards but it's a simple save for Lloris.
42'
Just wide! Haaland decide to pass instead of shooting and it's moved out to Grealish. He chops inside Emerson and curls a shot a yard or so past the far post.
44'
BLOCKS! Perisic delivers a low corner. Kane has a shot charged down then Dier's effort is blocked before the latter has a follow-up shot crowded out. Spurs may be a bit disappointed if they don't go in 2-0 up at the break.
45'
HALF TIME. A really good game with Spurs the better side and leading through Kane's 15th minute record-breaking goal. They've pushed hard for a second goal but nearly conceded an equaliser right before the whistle. Join us in 15 minutes for the second half. Tottenham 1-0 Man City.
45'
+1' CROSSBAR! City counter press well, a Grealish cross falls to Mahrez and he volleys sweetly against the bar and away. So nearly 1-1 and that's what City can do to you in the blink of an eye.
45'
Added time: two minutes.
46'
KICKOFF! The second half is underway. 1-0 to Spurs ahead of this second period.
48'
Kane now with an air shot after Royal had picked up Lewis' header. So much for City starting this half in fast fashion.
50'
Foul: Grealish goes on a run down the left and gets bundled over by Royal. He was looking for that and the defender obliged.
52'
City's best route to a goal looks like Grealish. He wriggles away down the left and past Royal but the defender gets back well. The pair having a few words in what is shaping up to be the key battle perhaps.
55'
The away side are having lots of possession and territory now, keeping the ball in the Spurs defensive third. It's not leading to chances though.
56'
And just like that, City give it away and Tottenham's front three tear forward on the counter. Kulusevski tries to get to the byline but Lewis makes a good challenge.
57'
WIDE! Perisic delivers a corner from the right and Davies makes a near post run. He gets there first but diverts his header wide of the target.
59'
SUB, Man City: De Bruyne finally comes on but it's surprisingly Mahrez who goes off. Weird decision there from Guardiola.
62'
We get the first sighter for De Bruyne. He has time and space but he can't quite get the weight of pass right for Haaland's run. A warning there for Tottenham.
63'
Again, Spurs counter attack at pace and Son finds Hojbjerg's lung-bursting run. He tries to find Emerson Royal but Ake comes across to make a fine tackle. The Dutchman has been superb so far today.
64'
CHANCE! Grealish roasts Royal and wins a freekick. De Bruyne takes it and plays it across the box for the totally unmarked Alvarez. He shoots but Dier makes a great block, celebrating afterwards.
65'
BLOCK! This is opening up now! Davies' weak header for Spurs falls for Akanji and Romero has to fly out to block the effort. Then De Bruyne sidefoots the follow-up wide from about 15 yards out.
66'
SO CLOSE! Spurs counter at speed with Man City wide open. Perisic drills a low ball across the face of goal but Kane narrowly fails to turn the ball home on the slide. So nearly 2-0 for the hosts.
68'
It's action-packed stuff here. De Bruyne tees up Alvarez but he fires his shot wide of goal.
69'
Wide! Again, it's Tottenham running riot on the counter. Kane decides to shoot from a narrow angle and drags it well wide of goal.
70'
CHANCE! Son finds Kane, who chops between Walker and Akanji brilliantly. He gets his shot away and Ederson smothers it. Brilliant striker play and a good save. Will Tottenham regret not killing this game off?
73'
Man City get it out wide with plenty of bodies in the box. Walker crosses and it's blcked away for a corner.
74'
De Bruyne takes the corner from the right, an inswinger. Ake and Rodri attack it but the latter can only head wide under pressure.
75'
YELLOW CARD, Spurs: Now it's Man City on the break and Perisic takes down Bernardo. Clear caution for a tactical foul.
76'
Man City want a penalty now after the ball strikes the arm of Emerson Royal. It was deliberate and there is nothing given.
77'
SHOTS! Spurs transition and Son has a low shot which Ederson parries. Kane picks it up and crosses for Hojbjerg to strike but he sends it wide of goal.
78'
Emerson Royal's battle with Grealish is great. He wins a goalkick by flying into a tackle on the winger after a smart one-two was played with De Bruyne. The ref got that call wrong but Tottenham (and Arsenal fans!) won't care one jot.
79'
SUB, Spurs: Sessegnon comes on for Perisic.
81'
Kane is playing brilliantly for Spurs with the ball sticking to him like glue. He is also playing some glorious slide rule passes to launch breaks.
83'
Close! Kane rides several challenges and releases Sessegnon. He drills a low cross for Kulusevski but Lewis gets there first to clear.
84'
YELLOW, Man City: Ederson is booked for dissent. He was adamant that Lewis was fouled as he cleared that cross. He's right but protested too vehemently.
85'
SUB, Man City: Gundogan comes on for Bernardo Silva.
85'
SUB, Spurs: Bissouma on for Son. Tottenham are shutting the back door now.
87'
RED CARD! In the least surprising news of the evening, Romero cuts down Grealish and gets a well deserved second yellow card. Spurs are down to ten men.
88'
SUB, Spurs: Sanchez comes on to replace Kulusevski and restore Tottenham's back five. It's a 5-3-1 formation now.
90'
FULL TIME. It ends 1-0 to Spurs who really deserve that win and held on even after Romero's late red card. Tottenham could have killed that game off in the second half after a series of dangerous counter attacks. Thanks for joining us on the day that Kane become Spurs' record historical goalscorer. Tottenham 1-0 Man City.
90'
+7' YELLOW, Man City: Walker is carded for a frustrated foul.
90'
+3' CLOSE! Grealish delivers a lovely cross into the box. Lloris gets there first and clatters Rodri with his trailing. VAR check complete and it's no penalty.
90'
+2' Hojbjerg now wins a freekick off Rodri. The Denmark international has been superb today against his former manager Pep Guardiola.
90'
Added time: five minutes.
90'
De Bruyne leathers the resulting freekick and it hits Hojbjerg into the face. He looks okay but eventually goes to ground. A bit of smart game management perhaps? Spurs fans won't care one bit.
