The GOOD party’s mayoral candidate for Paarl, former Springbok coach Peter de Villiers, can be guaranteed to bring colour into the November local government election.
Colour in the metaphorical sense, naturally. Without Snorre, the man renowned for his bushy moustache and pithy sayings, it could be a very boring affair. He hates boring. He quite rightly described the present Bok style of playing as “boring, boring”.
Win or lose, he will be remembered long after the other candidates are forgotten. And he’s quite philosophical about losing, his leader Patricia de Lille virtually constituting a one-woman party. He once said: “There’s little difference between winning and losing, except you feel better after winning.”
